Novotal Suva, is located on the magnificent Lami Bay just 15 minutes from Suva. Suva – the capital of FIJI, was developed in the late 1800's and retains much of the character of the colonial period. Its many attractions include shopping, restaurants, nightclubs, markets, a museum and sightseeing tours. You can enjoy a walk around the central city area, which will uncover numerous surprises.

The Roman Catholic Cathedral is a Suva landmark and a leisurely stroll down Victoria Parade (the main avenue) will take you past an array of restaurants, clothing and book stores as well as banks and airline offices. Here you'll see the blending of traditional, early 20th century South Pacific buildings juxtaposed with modern high-rise structures. Towards the end of the Parade are the Government Buildings, which open on to Albert Park and Thurston Gardens. A short bus or cab ride south toward Suva Point will take you to the architecturally striking Parliament Buildings.

Most people in Fiji do not own a car, so taxis are plentiful and fares are reasonable. For instance, FJ$2.50 will take you just about anywhere in the average town or city. Urban taxis have meters, with a flag at $1.50 and $2.00 after 10.00pm. But you will find smaller towns and rural area taxis use a fixed price system and almost everyone can tell you the price to local destination.

For long trips, bargain with the driver. Often he'll reduce the fare if you allow him to pick up other passengers going the same way. Some taxis can also be hired by the day or half day for a fixed price, often the equivalent of a rental car.

Fiji is famous for the variety of activities available. These include snorkelling over shallow reefs close to shore, diving, which offers a full range of a underwater experiences, riding in a jetboat, trekking in the tropical rainforests, swimming in the crystal clear waters of a rushing river, or even a visit to a sacred cave- Naisese cave.

How about a full day or half day shopping tour of Suva, or a special week-long excursion around the major island where you can pilot a raft through raging rapids, sail through the magnificence of the Yasawa island chain or safari into the highlands to see rugged peaks and remote villages... from sightseeing to shopping we have it all in Fiji.
